Let’s have a project cause I wanna see something.- Reblog this post.
I want you vision for a more just world in regards to sexual and economic violence the *hot topics* of the hour.
Here are the rules:
- Can’t start with a negative statement- “where we are not” or NO MORE…. nope sorry you have to want something AFFIRMATIVE
- can’t center around who you are taking from- this is about BUILDING so no discussion of anybody but the people you do this FOR
- you have to state one selfish goal out loud
- One of them has to be LOCAL
I am asking to see if I can mobilize all my followers ( I know all 10 of ya’ll will hold me down) to circle it out to this ” SJ ” community and see if our so called leaders and thinkers actually have vision.
You can also reblog this with bets on what happens….
I want to see all communities given the tools they need to create better access to food, education, & healthcare. I want a truly level playing field that closes the digital divide. I want more investment in infrastructure & sustainability. I want to see the minimum wage increased to a living wage. I want Chicago to be a city with safe affordable housing and no food desserts. Sadly, the odds on any of this being a priority are incredibly low since schools & clinics don’t generate mega profits.
i’m a big picture kind of gal, so ultimately i want to see and participate in (whether i’m alive or not) the dismantling of capitalism and the building of a just and compassionate system that prizes sustainability and guarantees equal access to resources. but along the way and more in lines with economic and sexual violence, i want kids learning about the history and how-it-works of racism, sexism, abelism, queerphobia, capitalism, etc. from jump - like kindergarten. i want education and food and housing to be things that you don’t have to pay for. i want to reimagine bodies as things that are useful only insofar as they provide labor or sex. i want to end the privatization of prisons and detention centers. i want an end to slavery and slave-like conditions - domestic workers, farmworkers, factory workers get a baseline minimum wage and oversight of employees is strong i want a more love and compassion-centered society and social contract. in nashville, i want an end to food deserts and greater support of community-based initiatives to end violence - our black-on-black violence rate exceeds memphis.
ETA: one selfish goal - i guess you mean in the context of all this? i want i greater appreciation of and more integration of the moving body in history and everyday life. i’m mad that i can’t sashay or do a two step down the street if i want to and it not be a problem.
