Fuck, just a few generations ago, most of the big newspapers in the USA were editorializing that Asians were more vile than Blacks (i.e. unable to assimilate and become docile, also more disease-ridden and unhygienic) and therefore must be legislated out of existence — not even three-fifths of a person, we’re talking kill ‘em all the only good chink is a dead chink. This turned around in 1965 with the passage of certain immigration laws (which created the “model minority”), but we are not all that far removed from some very heavy violent anti-Asian racism and I see it reflected in many attitudes today, including those of other people of color.
It’s also worth considering why whites basically swapped “Latinos are good, Asians are bad” for “Asians are good, Latinos are bad!” in the 1960s. Because a big part of the reason they were trying to replace Asians with Latinos was that Asians were heavily collective and heavily unionized and they had hoped Latinos would not be; when the Latinos started unionizing as well, the strategy shifted to “divide and conquer”.
That strategy WORKED. Just look at the way the United Farm Workers — which was a merger between an Asian union and a Mexican union, and the Asian union was the more active of the two — kicked out all the Asians and then erased them from its history. Does anyone even know that the famous California grape strike was carried out by Asian workers, with the Mexican union only joining in later on?

You must admit Asians are very privileged at all times and be gracious about it. If you don’t, you’ll suffer like cosmopolitan-fascist is right now. A bunch of dorky pseudo-social justice identity politics bloggers will take a five minute break from gaming and watching cartoons and get reactionary all over your dashboard and make accusations.

Now why would they read the whole thread or the other convos relating to this? I mean that involve acknowledging that Zuky called out cosmo for being a pompously ignorant asshat. Or noting that cosmo & others took a complicated conversation, got the wrong end of the stick & then got offended when they got called on it. Facts don’t matter bb.

Indeed, and I am gonna say I resent the fuck out of people trying to fucking appropriate my words to support anti-blackness when I consciously go out of my way to avoid falling into that. That is epically not okay.
And since we’re on that note, I shall explicitly point out that historical editorials arguing that Asians are even worse than blacks do not actually establish that Asians were at that time or any other time actually treated worse than blacks. Rather, those editorials were effectively trying to invoke white anti-blackness against Asians by comparing us to blacks. It’s a valuable data point in establishing that anti-blackness is dangerous to all people of color, as long as people are not utterly missing the point by falling for establishment divide-and-conquer games.
