Let’s not forget the erasure of healthy black relationships from the media as well as the myth that the only way to find someone decent is in the church. The same church that teaches that women should be submissive while ignoring that the Bible was actually speak of a partnership where husbands & wives submitted to each other & worked together in all things.

Ma’am, you know you deserve that look. Also, let’s talk about how often black women are given conflicting messages & expected to live up to all of them. Can’t be too sexual, must be sexual enough, can’t need anything from anyone, must be willing to let a man be a man, must have good morals, be willing to share a man…the list is exhausting.
