I’m not about silencing Black women…but let me get more specific. I’m not about silencing Black cis straight (or otherwise privileged) women, speaking in the context of life only at a Black cis straight woman and not oppressing any other Black women or FAAB people.
You better bet to FUCK I am ALL about silencing the shit out of Black cis straight (or otherwise privileged) women who use their privilege against THOSE THEY OPPRESS. Because you know what you become? You become the tool by which white supremacists will excuse violent, murderous bigotry against those other people. They’ll go “hey, even other niggers hate that nigger! let’s get em!” Transmisogyny, queerphobia, and anti-dark skin shit ALL ends in THAT. YOU ARE CONTRIBUTING TO IT.
Even if people hate you as a cis, straight, educated, light-skinned, quiet, skinny Black woman, they hate the queer, trans, fat, “uneducated”, dark-skinned, loud Black trans woman more. Black women closer to the bottom of the scale are NOT REQUIRED to give a FUCK about their oppressors.
STOP ACTING AS IF ALL BLACK WOMEN AND FAAB PEOPLE, CIS, TRANS AND OTHERWISE, ARE ALL IN ONE BOAT. YES WE ARE COLLECTIVELY SHIT ON. THAT DOESN’T MEAN WE DON’T SHIT ON EACH OTHER. THAT DOESN’T MEAN WE CAN’T OPPRESS EACH OTHER.
